AHRI 700 Standard

"Keeping Your Cool with Quality Refrigerant Gases"

AHRI 700 Standard

The AHRI 700 standard establishes acceptable impurity levels for fluorocarbon, carbon dioxide, and hydrocarbon refrigerants, regardless of their source. It also outlines the appropriate testing methods to ensure compliance. These refrigerants are specified in ANSI/ASHRAE Standard 34 with Addenda and ISO Standard 817.

The standard covers single-component fluorocarbon refrigerants, including R-11, R-12, R-13, R-22, R-23, R-32, R-113, R-114, R-115, R-116, R-123, R-124, R-125, R-134a, R-141b, R-142b, R-143a, R-152a, R-218, R-227ea, R-236fa, R-245fa, R-1224yd(Z), R-1233zd(E), R-1234yf, R-1234ze(E), R-1336mzz(Z), and R-1336mzz(E).

The purpose of this standard is to establish purity specifications, ensure refrigerant quality, and define testing procedures to verify the acceptability of listed refrigerants. This applies to refrigerants from all sources, including new, recovered, and repackaged, for use in both new and existing refrigeration and air-conditioning systems within AHRI’s scope.
